About Lawrence

Dr Lawrence Jun Zhang is an associate professor at NIE/NTU, Singapore, teaching mainly in the postgraduate programs and supervising MA, PhD and Post-Doctoral scholars. Dr Zhang's research and teaching span psycholinguistics/language acquisition studies, metacognition, learning strategies, reading instructional design, and teacher-education. He has presented over 50 papers at international conferences and published more than 100 articles, reviews, and book chapters. He has also delivered many plenary/featured addresses at international conferences in countries like Australia, Canada, China, Germany, Korea, New Zealand, Thailand, the UK, and the USA. His recent work appears in Applied Linguistics, Perceptual & Motor Skills, Language & Education, British Journal of Educational Psychology, and Instructional Science. An invited referee for top-tier journals such as Language Learning (USA) and Perceptual & Motor Skills (USA), he also reviews papers for other international journals: Critical Inquiry in Language Studies, Journal of Applied Linguistics Journal, Language Teaching, TESL-EJ, and System. He serves TESOL Quarterly, Metacognition & Learning, Asian EFL Journal, Reflections in English Language Teaching, Linguistics Journal, and STETS Language & Communication Review as an invited Editorial Advisory Board member. He has been a Guest Professor of English at Yangtze University, Hebei University, and Yanshan University, China.
