About Rani
Dr. Rani Rubdy is Visiting Associate Professor at the National Institute of Education, Singapore. Previously, she served as Director of TESOL at the Institute of English Language Education, Assumption University, Bangkok. She taught for many years at the National University of Singapore and the Central Institute of English and Foreign Languages, Hyderabad, India. She has published widely in international journals and contributed several book chapters on world Englishes, language planning and policy, classroom discourse and language teacher education. She is co-editor of the recently published books, 'English in the World: Global Rules, Global Roles' (Continuum, 2006) and 'Language as Commodity: Global Structures, Local Marketplaces' (Continuum, 2008). She serves on the board of reviewers of several journals in the region.
