About Ruanni
Ruanni is currently a Lecturer with the Centre for English Language Communication, NUS, and the Chief Editor of its international refereed journal, Reflections on English Language Teaching. With a Ph.D. from NUS, he publishes in the areas of the politics of language, especially second language education and issues on World Englishes. He hopes to see SAAL reach out to regional scholars through creating more awareness of Southeast Asian applied linguists and their work. He wants to promote both formal and informal links between Singapore and regional scholars, and he believes SAAL is positioned to faciliate this link. Ruanni also co-edits the SAAL Quarterly and has written referee reports for a number of journals as well, including Southeast Asian Studies (SEAS, Kyoto) Asia-Pacific Social Science Review (DLSU, Manila), and the Malaysian Journal of ELT Research (MELTA).
