About Selim
Selim Ben
Said is currently a Visiting Assistant Professor in the English Language &
Literature Academic Group of the National Institute of Education, Singapore. He
recently obtained his PhD in Applied Linguistics (May 2010) from Penn State
University. His research interests include multilingualism, language policy and
planning, and social semiotics. He has published in the areas of attitudes to
foreign-perceived accents, linguistic imperialism and language teaching. His
current research projects explore how teachers’ identities are
dynamically constructed/shaped by the semiotic
environment in which they are trained.
